We will introduce Vertical Grouping Report of FineReport reporting softwarein this article.Data are grouped by the field of Region, after which it takes one row as group header. Reports of this kind are called vertical grouping reports.

1. Description

Reports in the section of Grouping Report can be called the simplest grouping reports. There are also variations in grouping reports; one common style, for example, is a group header residing above or below other than on the left.As shown in the figure below, data are grouped by the field of Region, after which it takes one row as group header. Reports of this kind are called vertical grouping reports.

2. Realization ideas

As explained in the section of Parent-Child Cell, data columns on the same row automatically form parent-child relations; data columns from the same data set automatically form subordinate relations and produce grouping effect.

For vertical grouping reports, headers take one separate row. If data columns are not on the same row, there is no parent cell relation between headers and data, meaning other data columns will not take the field of Region as a filter condition.

Therefore, in such grouping reports, simply resetting the parent cells of data fields as header fields will produce grouping effect.
