We will introduce how to pop up Page Setup dialog in Template of FineReport business intelligence tool in this article.

1. Overview

Click menu Template > Page Setup to pop up Page Setup dialog where you can set up the page for current sheet. Each sheet page of a workbook in report designer can have different settings:

2.1 Direction

It means paper direction, which, in general, needs to be combined with Print:

2.2 Paper size

You can select paper size from Predefine Size. Or you can customize paper size. Units include mm and inch. Default unit is mm.

Create a new report and paper default size is A4; you may set paper size based on specific conditions. The designer dash is the boundary marker of paper size, as shown below:

Note: If customized paper size is same as one predefined value, for example, if paper size is set to 210*297 (i.e., predefined A4 paper), the page setting will automatically switch to corresponding predefined paper the next time you open the page.

2.4 Height

Height adjustment of header and footer has same effect as the height set in Report Header and Footer.

3. Others

3.1 Print order

You can set print order as row column or column row.

3.2 Center

Horizontal center

If page is set as horizontal center, in print, the report content effect will be horizontal center corresponding to the paper position, as shown below:

Vertical center

If page is set as vertical center, in print, the report content effect will be vertical center corresponding to the paper position, as horizontal center:

Note: Page settings of horizontal center and vertical center are only applicable to page break preview. In other preview methods, contents still start from left top corner. The other preview methods comprise. In addition, if Left and Middle display is set in report, horizontal center and vertical center are valid.

3.3 Start page number

This function is mainly used to set page starting from “Start page number” in report with pages. Default value is 1, as shown below:

When this value is set to 2, the first page will be Page 2, as shown below:

Note: Minimum value of start page number is 1.

3.4 Automatically resize to fit contents

For all cells in the entire report, set whether to automatically change the row height and column width of cell to accommodate its contents.

There are three options: No Autofit, Autofit row height and Autofit column width.

No Autofit: the current cell will be displayed in the actual size in designer if it is displayed at web side or is printed and exported. The cell contents will be cut out for display.

Autofit row height: When the designer size is too small to hold all texts of current cell. When the cell is displayed at web side or is printed and exported, the column width will keep unchanged and the row height will be changed automatically depending on the text to display all contents.

Autofit column width: When the designer size is too small to hold all texts of current cell. When the cell is displayed at web side or is printed and exported, the row height will keep unchanged and the column width will be changed automatically depending on the text to display all contents.

Note: “Automatically Resize to Fit Contents” in page setting corresponds to the all cells. Default as AutoFit Row Height.
