We will introduce Built-in data set of FineReport reporting software in this article.Built-in data set is divided into server built-in data set and report built-in data set. Description will be made taking server built-in data set as an example. Server built-in data set means to create an original table similar to database table in the server data set, to serve as the server data source for report design.

1. Role of built-in data set

With builtin data set, Page Break Preview template is made available on the machine without database. If one machine makes a template with database query, a corresponding connection is required to copy this template to another machine for access. Otherwise, template access fails. In this case, the template can be accessed on any computer either by directly defining the template data set into built-in data set or outputting such template into a built-in data set template on the template-making machine. As to output template from built-in data set, refer to the Designer Export chapter.
